Flying geese rows, striking variable star blocks, and layered borders create a design that feels playful and eye-catching while still remaining approachable for confident beginners. ✨ Pattern & Tutorial Support

Fresh Squeezed Watermelon features the original Angels Neverland quilt pattern Straight On Till Morning — a confident beginner-friendly design combining flying geese rows, variable star blocks, and layered borders in a cheerful 72” x 72” summer quilt layout.

Pattern instructions include cutting guidance, piecing details, diagrams, and expanded support beyond a traditional one-page quilt card pattern while still relying on basic quilting familiarity and companion tutorials along the way.

Some construction steps also include companion QR-code tutorials to help guide the sewing process. Included tutorials from Sew Can She cover Binding, Flying Geese, Half Square Triangles (HSTs), and the Variable Star quilt block. Customers should be comfortable accessing QR-code tutorials using a smartphone or similar device. 💛🍉

✨ As a special bonus, this quilt kit also includes a printed quilt outline planning page inspired by Straight On Till Morning that can be used to experiment with future fabric layouts, color placement ideas, and creative quilt planning using colored pencils or your favorite coloring medium.

Backing Sold Separately

📏 Angels Neverland recommends 5 to 5½ yards of 42”–45” wide fabric for backing, depending on how much extra room you prefer for quilting and trimming. 💛

✂️ Heads up: Because your quilt is wider than standard quilting cotton, the backing will need to be pieced with at least one seam. Simply cut your backing fabric to the desired length and sew fabric widths together using ½" seam allowances.

💛 Complete Kit customers may choose any coordinating watermelon fabric backing. Simply browse our watermelon fabrics and send Angels Neverland your preferred backing selection after ordering.  🍉 

💛 Want a different backing option? Angels Neverland Notes 💛

One of our favorite parts of this quilt is the unexpected lemonade yellow paired with the watermelon fabrics. The bright yellow Fossil Fern fabric pulls the lemonade tones directly from the prints and gives the entire quilt a cheerful summer glow.

The Radiance blenders from Windham add beautiful texture and movement while still allowing the watermelon fabrics to remain the star of the show 🍉

Fresh Squeezed Watermelon was thoughtfully designed with generous fabric allowances to help confident beginners feel comfortable throughout the sewing process. Extra fabric may allow room for fussy cutting, trimming flexibility, and a little added peace of mind while piecing your quilt.

Because this is an original Angels Neverland design, fabric quantities were intentionally planned with a “better a little extra than not enough” mindset.🍉
